This portrait is of a fellow artist. We participated in the wetcanvas portrait swap which is a yearly event. Great opportunity to improve ones portraiture skills.

Portrait wins first prize

This past weekend I entered this portrait of my sister in law into the local Art Awards. What a thrill to have it win first prize in the portraiture section. It is Genesis heat set oils on 10 x 12 canvas.

Portraits

Been a long time since posting, but here are a couple of the portraits that I've completed in the last 10 months. The first one is my mother in law. The second one is my brother in law. Both are done in Genesis heat set oils.

My niece

This year I hope to do a portrait painting of my family members for their birthdays etc. The first off the rank is my beautiful niece.

Portait swap

In December I took part in a portrait swap on wetcanvas. I had a blast painting a picture of Bethany. She did my portrait and I'm keen to receive it.
